I am constantly inspired by the people and landscape of my little corner of New England, especially the green places, the wooded spaces, and the places by the water that are best known by locals who share a love for Rhode Island with me. When Kelsey reached out to me about engagement photography for she and her fiancé, Jason, she gave me a little more information about them as a couple than what I ask for on my initial contact/new client inquiry form. As I read her description of them as individuals and a couple, I felt like I was almost reading a description of my husband and I fifteen years ago. I knew we were a good match, which made me so excited to finally meet with and photograph their engagement portraits last week. We began in Jamestown at a lovely cove where Jason proposed to Kelsey this spring. Then, because Kelsey is a landscape designer and gardener, we went to the URI gardens in Kingston. The plants were so verdant and lush with that fresh, spring-green unfolding everywhere. They were so easy to photograph and so sweet together, it was truly an enjoyable outing and I feel lucky to have been the photographer they chose.
