On a beautiful afternoon last autumn, I had the pleasure of photographing Cassandra & Aaron’s wedding at the charming Theatre by the Sea in Matunuck, Rhode Island. It was a true family affair as Cassandra’s father designed and built the rustic chuppah for their ceremony, Cassandra’s stepmother officiated their ceremony, her sister baked their wedding cake, their wedding rings and the bride’s jewelry were pieces created by her grandfather and the wedding party was immediate family members that had traveled from near and far to be witness and celebrants of their beautiful day. This kind of meaningful, creative, symbolic, DIY celebration is the perfect reflection of this artistic and expressive couple and family. The bride and groom also write their own vows, which were incredibly articulate and touching. A light fog rolled in throughout the day and after a courtyard cocktail reception, guests enjoyed dinner and dancing in the cozy and rustic dining room of Theatre-by-the-Sea’s Bistro.
Cassandra’s grandfather was a jeweler, and the pieces she wore were from his collection, including their wedding bands.
The couple’s sweet pup, Stella, getting prepped for her duties as flower girl.
Congratulations Cassandra & Aaron! May your marriage be filled with joy and laughter always.

Thank You Susan for capturing our special day!
Susan – the blog photos of Cassie and Aaron’s wedding are so beautiful! Each one is a gem. You truly captured the very best of my sister’s wonderful wedding day. What a gift!
Thank you Nessa! It was a true pleasure being a part of their engagement and wedding and capturing it all for them! xoxo
My family spent our summer vacations in Matunuck and attended the shows at Theater by the sea. I always wondered what a wedding there would look like. This is lovely. I love the bride’s dress. Thank you.
