By now, anyone who knows my photography knows that I love to photograph grasses, it’s true. But if you really know me, you also know that I love birds. I’ve been birding since high school when I took an ornithology class with “Mr. Mack” and my eyes were opened to the beauty of the natural world around me – most specifically – birds. When I met with Liz last winter to discuss photographing her wedding, I discovered that her last name is Woodcock, also the name of a cute little elusive bird with a fantastic twilight courtship display in early spring. Then she told me that her fiance, Joel, is a wildlife biologist and avid birder. At that point I knew their wedding day was a perfect match for me as a photographer, but hoped she and Joel felt the same way about me being the photographer for their wedding. As it turns out, they hired me and I am so grateful to have been a part of their amazingly beautiful, nature-inspired wedding day.
Liz & Joel had their private First Look moment in a little grove of rhodedendron by the pond.
As the wedding guests gathered and bridal party preceded to the ceremony location, Liz watched out the same bedroom window that her mother had looked out of before the ceremony when she married Liz’s Father.
The brand new Mr. & Mrs.!
Congratulations Liz & Joel!
