Being outside as much as possible this spring has really helped me get through the pandemic and maintain my sanity. Hiking, yard work, walking our dogs, gardening and collecting little bits of the natural world around me. I feel so grateful to live in southern Rhode Island. Not only do we have many beautiful beaches within easy access, but equally lovely woodlands for trail hiking and fresh water lakes, ponds and rivers. These are the places that inspire me, but also make me feel calm and secure when life gets tricky.
During this time of postponed weddings (and all of my spring and summer 2020 weddings have postponed!), I’ve been continuing to do portrait photography, which I love – from a safe distance. I am also taking advantage of this rare time during what is normally my busiest season by creating in nature; landscapes, waterscapes and other natural vignettes I create. I am trying to look at this time as an opportunity, which it is. An opportunity to explore subject matter I rarely have the creative time for, but means so much to me. I hope you enjoy.
