Janelle is the ultimate outdoors girl – she loves to spend her time at her friend’s farm, horseback riding, playing soccer and at the beach with family and friends. So when it came time to plan where we would hold her high school senior portrait session, we decided that farm and beach would be our main focus. The farm we shot at was so beautiful that I was almost overwhelmed with all the fantastic settings for photos. At one point, Janelle climbed up on a large hay bale and as I started taking her portrait I saw something moving quickly out of the corner of my eye. It was the farm’s five dogs running down the dirt road to investigate the visitors and give us their official welcome. Violet, the visla, jumped right up on the giant hay bale with Janelle and even posed for a few photos.
Once we had captured Janelle in just about every beautiful setting on the farm, we drove to the coast to one of my favorite beaches in Narragansett, Rhode Island. Janelle was so fun to photograph and her beautiful strawberry blond hair caught the setting sun’s warm light in such a lovely, summery way, offset perfectly by the green rose hip bushes in the dunes and the cool dark blue-gray rocks along the water’s edge, it made it hard to take a photo of her I didn’t love.
It was a pleasure to photograph you. I hope you have a wonderful senior year, Janelle!
