Instead of doing a “best of” series from previous years, I thought I would focus (no pun intended) on themes and elements that keeping cropping up (again – no pun intended!) in my work. I am consistently drawn to grasses when I am photographing. I am drawn the their wispy stalks and the way the light catches their feathery tips. They have movement and pattern and yet are somehow simultaneously random. Whether in the dunes at the beach or open fields of wild grasses, I can’t stop placing my subjects within and near them.
