Several months ago I received a message from a very talented wedding blogger, Julianna Oates of The Newport Bride, asking if I would like to collaborate on a wedding photo shoot for her blog. Of course, I immediately agreed. She and I have been following each other on instagram and realized we had some specific visual tastes in common as we started putting together plans for a Newport-based stylized winter wedding shoot that was plaid inspired. My family and I traveled to Scotland in the summer of 2014, and I’ve been obsessed with tartans ever since, so this sounded right up my ally.
We decided on Fort Adams for the beautiful old stone work, and the people at Fort Adams were incredibly gracious and helpful. Most of the credit for this session goes to Julianna. She put many hours into creating much of the decor and gathering beautiful accessories. We also had fantastic models for our shoot and the additional talents of Jonathan from JLZ Films and Alicia Dane for hair & makeup. It was wonderful to collaborate with all of them and I can’t wait to photograph at Ft. Adams again!
