Earlier this summer, I had the pleasure of traveling to Ecot-la-Combe, a beautiful, picturesque, 13th century village tucked in the rolling countryside of southeast Burgundy, France near Langres. The reason for my travels was the wedding celebration of Amy & Michel (aka DJ). DJ’s family has been in residence in Ecot-la-Combe for several generations, so his connection to this beautiful location was an obvious choice for their wedding destination. The lovely old buildings of cream-colored stone and warm terra-cotta roofs and pale shades of the shutters made a charming backdrop for their ceremony and reception. After getting ready in the bed & breakfast DJ’s cousin runs in the village, Amy’s father walked her down to the grassy bridge that stretches over the town’s pond spillway. There, she and DJ exchanged vows in front of close family and friends that had traveled from all over France and the United Staets to be a part of their celebration. It was a beautiful ceremony and a weekend I will never forget! It meant so much to be asked to travel to France to capture their wedding day and I will always treasure the experience!
Stunning! Absolutely beautiful.
Wonderful photos and obviously a wonderful wedding and wedding site.
What beautiful pictures – so much love – and an absolutely charming village.
Susan, It was so great to meet you. Thanks for the wonderful photos. We are so glad that you could be there to capture all the smiles!
Absolutely beautiful pictures ! Thank you so much for such an original eye on a one-in-a-life moment.
Susan,
I don’t even know how you captured so many wonderful pictures in such a short time. You’re eye behind the camera is remarkable and very (very) observant. The photos of the wedding guest on the bridge and then to the beautiful church structure is breathtaking. There are so many choices a couple make for their celebration, but I think the choice of you as the photographer is by far the best one. The details you focus on during the ceremony and make available for the couple for their memories are one-of-a-kind and so thoughtful.
Ceux-là étaient de belles peintures
You have created such a pretty book of souvenirs, So many beautiful pictures but I am greedy…do you have more to be shown?
“Mamacita” said in her comment that asking you to come to France was a good decision, indeed it was.
My question is: How does one go about ordering ?
P.S. your whole blog was pretty to go through.
