Earlier this summer, I had the pleasure of traveling to Ecot-la-Combe, a beautiful, picturesque, 13th century village tucked in the rolling countryside of southeast Burgundy, France near Langres. The reason for my travels was the wedding celebration of Amy & Michel (aka DJ). DJ’s family has been in residence in Ecot-la-Combe for several generations, so his connection to this beautiful location was an obvious choice for their wedding destination. The lovely old buildings of cream-colored stone and warm terra-cotta roofs and pale shades of the shutters made a charming backdrop for their ceremony and reception. After getting ready in the bed & breakfast DJ’s cousin runs in the village, Amy’s father walked her down to the grassy bridge that stretches over the town’s pond spillway. There, she and DJ exchanged vows in front of close family and friends that had traveled from all over France and the United Staets to be a part of their celebration. It was a beautiful ceremony and a weekend I will never forget! It meant so much to be asked to travel to France to capture their wedding day and I will always treasure the experience!
