Lena + Thomas are Married! Narragansett, RI Wedding Photographer

I had a wonderful time photographing Lena & Thomas’ beautiful autumn wedding at Kinney Bungalow in Narragansett, RI. Lena & Thomas met at a bus stop in Chicago, and later Thomas brought Lena back to that very same bus stop to propose to her. We couldn’t get to that exact bus stop on their wedding…

An Evening at the Farm: Caity + Brian’s Wedding at Kinney Bungalow

I met Caity when I was photographing her sister Nancy’s wedding and she was a bridesmaid in 2007. Little did I know that 4 years later I would be given the honor of capturing Caity’s wedding as well!  Both Caity, and her now husband, Brian, come from such fun, loving and vibrant families and their…

Going to the Chapel – Laura + Glen’s Beautiful Wedding: Narragansett, RI Wedding Photographer

I could go on and on about the beautiful coastal Narragansett wedding of Laura & Glen. Rain threatened all day, but it just didn’t seem to matter. Laura + Glen are headed to Costa Rica for a surf camp honeymoon, so I thought this photo was quite appropriate and got Laura completely in the spirit!…

Emily + Andy wedding, the towers: Narragansett, RI wedding photographer

To say that I was blown away by the beauty of Emily’s stunning vintage gown and headpiece would be an understatement. She looked straight out of Vogue magazine, and her constant smile added a radiant beauty to the day that was so genuine and infectious. I loved being a part of the day she married…

Lynne + Sean, Kinney Bungalow Wedding 10.15.10

Lynne and Sean’s wedding was last October at Kinney Bungalow in Narragansett. I didn’t have a chance to blog it last fall, so here you are – a gorgeous autumn wedding in Southern New England. I loved the vintage feel of Lynne’s gown and the dramatic train. Sean patiently waiting for his lovely bride. Lynne’s…

South County Bridal Show 1.16.11 the Towers, Narragansett, RI

Yesterday was the 4th annual South County Bridal Show held at local historic landmark, The Towers, across from Narragansett Beach. The event is organized by South County Tourism Council. I love participating in this show because it’s a great size, intimate and filled with talented, south county-based vendors. For the most part, we have worked…

About Susan

My wedding and portrait photography business is located in the heart of South County, Rhode Island close to URI and the scenic, south coast beaches. I grew up here and feel so lucky to be able to work and create in such a beautiful location! My approach to photography is much like my approach to life: creative, relaxed, natural and fun. I would describe my style as a blend of candid & photojournalistic with traditional & artistic images. I love taking the time to create some beautiful, romantic portraits of my brides & grooms, but also the spontaneous moments throught the wedding day.

I consider my website and blog a place where I can visually journal about the amazing people and places I get to photograph. Not only do I consider myself exceptionally lucky to be making a living taking photographs for people at important moments in their lives, but I also get to meet an amazing cross section of people I might not otherwise get to know. In the ten years I have been in business, I have had the chance to photograph couples riding high on the excitement of their recent engagement, on their wedding day, parents-to-be waiting to meet their new child, newborn babies, children marking milestone birthdays and families who want to remember a certain time in their lives by capturing it in a photographic portrait.

In more recent years, I have had the opportunity to photograph the weddings of younger siblings and friends of previous wedding clients, and the maternity, newborn and family portraits of couples whose weddings I photographed in years past. It feels amazing to know my creative vision of these occasions is a part of their lives and their family history and I am grateful for each and every one of them. When I say I love what I do, it is from a genuine place. I can't imagine doing anything else and feeling as creativly satisfied and pleased to make my clients happy.

I studied photography at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) for undergraduate school and received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
