Kristin & Bernard brought their wedding celebration up the east coast from New Jersey to Newport, Rhode Island because of Kristin’s memories of wonderful summer family vacations in Newport when she was a child. This fun couple (and their amazing venue) didn’t let a little summer storm ruin their ceremony. Instead of a ceremony held in the rows of grape vines, they brought the party inside to one of the cask rooms. Kristin & Bernard exchanged their vows in front of a wall lined with warm wooden casks of aging wine, and rows of rustic benches for their guests, while the soft sound of rain fell on the roof above. It was actually quite beautiful and particularly meaningful as Kristin’s stepfather was their officiant.
After the ceremony, guests tossed mini beach balls into the air as the newlyweds exited the cask room and began the festivities (and of course, enjoyed some amazing wine!). The reception was beautiful, candlelit, romantic and as fun as the ceremony was spiritual.
