Liz & Chris’ late August wedding was a steamy day for this New England based photographer, but perfect for this southern couple and their guests. The couple, who met in college in Alabama, decided to have a destination wedding and invited guests to travel north to Newport, a small Rhode Island city with a lot of history and coastal charm. Their celebration started with a “first look” in the rose garden at Rosecliff, so they could have a few minutes to be together as a bride and groom without any distractions (other than their photographer clicking away from a distance). They were then joined by their families for photos by the gorgeous fountain at the back of the mansion’s property.
All of their guests were dressed in Gatsby-esque beaded gowns and classic tuxedos, which added to the elegance and authentic feel of their celebration. After a beautiful ceremony inside of the Salon Room (which included vows they had written to each other and having everyone in attendance add their personal name tag to a sign custom created for Liz & Chris’ ceremony which read simply, “Family”) the newlyweds and their guests sipped, dined and danced the night away in the grand ballroom. When it was time for the cake and dessert table, Liz made sure to have mini Cadbury creme eggs – Chris’ favorite – scattered throughout the dessert table. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Liz and Chris. I’m happy to tell you that their entire celebration was as special and beautiful as the two of them!
Congratulations Liz & Chris! Wishing you all the very best – and trips back to Newport soon!
