As all New Englanders know, April weather can be tricky. One day the sun is shining and we start to think winter is finally over and the next we get an icy rain. To say the least, it can make outdoor photo sessions a bit difficult to plan. When the day of Valerie & Ned’s engagement session arrived, the forecast was looking iffy at best. Mild, but showers all day. We had a rain plan, but were really hoping to get photos outside in the lovely and historic part of Boston close to the Commons and Charles Street. As it turned out, Mother Nature was kind to us because our session remained rain-free for it’s entirety and enabled us to not only get to all the locations we had hoped for, but provided us with the most beautiful backdrop of budding and flowering trees for lots of soft, spring colors in the landscape.
Ned grew up in Boston and Valerie is currently completing her residency here. Since their wedding will be held in Newport, Rhode Island next year, they wanted to include the city that means so much to them by holding their engagement portrait session along the charming and historic streets and in the Boston Commons.
